DAY 1  Arrive in Athens and after passing through customs we transfer to our hotel. The evening is free.
 
DAY 2  Today we tour Athens beginning with the Acropolis precinct. First we tour the Propylaia, or gateway constructed as a facade in temple form. The outstanding architectural structure on the the Acropolis is the Parthenon, it is breathtaking. Next we visit the Erechtheion,  famous for the porch of the Karyatides, named after the six female statues that support the roof. We visit the Temple of Athene Nike, and the Acropolis Museum. We take the time to slowly stroll around the Acropolis.

After lunch there is an optional tour of the Athens National Museum with its fantastic collection of artifacts. Return to the hotel. Bed and Breakfast

 DAY 3  After breakfast we start our three day classical tour. We leave by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal, short stop, and continue to Epidaurus. This is the best preserved open air ancient Greek theater. It is a marvel to Greek engineering. Wherever you stand you can hear the slightest sound on the stage. Next we proceed to and  tour Mycenae, known in history as the legendary home of King Agamemnon who led the Greeks in the Trojan War.  Later we drive through Central Peloponese to Olympia and check into the hotel.  B&B

DAY 4  After breakfast we visit Olympia, one of the best-preserved sites in Greece and home of the Olympic Games.  After a full day of leisurely touring the site we drive through the plains of Greece cross the Corinth Bay and drive to Delphi. We check into the hotel. The evening is free to stroll the picturesque town. B&B

DAY 5 Today we tour Delphi. This was the home of the famed oracle.  We visit the Agora (market place)  the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Theater and the museum. Later we return to Athens and check into our hotel. The evening is free. You might go to one of the famed shopping areas of Athens or enjoy an evening on the town. We can make suggestions. B&B 

 
DAY 6  We transfer to the port of Athens and sail to Myconos where we check into the hotel. You have three days to explore and take advantage of all this beautiful island . It looks just like the postcards: white houses, flowers, and restaurants and cafes with wonderful food. the nightlife is active.

 

MYKONOS, GREECE

 

This is an island of beautiful beaches. There are water sports, scuba diving, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, and nightlife. There are magnificent Greek and international restaurants serving delicious food. .Shops are everywhere, souvenirs abound. The town of Chora should be seen, with its harbor, museums, and archeological sites. A trip to Delos Island the holiest island of ancient Greece is a must. There are many archaeological sites.

DAY 9 We check out of the hotel and sail to Santorini also known as Thira. We check into our hotel. You have three days to explore all this beautiful isle has to offer. This is the magical island of Greece. Barren and rocky island its volcano has given it black and red beaches The town situated on high cliffs offer spectacular views and magical sunsets.

SANTORINI GREECE

Beaches are many, offering water sports, scuba diving, and horseback riding. The towns on the cliffs are very beautiful and full of little cafes, serving traditional Greeks food to international gourmet dinners. Shops abound, Selling most everything. There is an active nightlife.

A must see is Akrotiri the ancient town buried in the volcano eruption 3500 years ago.
 

ANCIENT AKROTIRI, SANTORINI

 

DAY 12 Today we sail to Heraklion, Crete and check into our hotel. The rest of the day is free.

This is the largest island in Greece, and because of its size and the fact that it is far away from the mainland, it is quite different from the rest of the country. People refer to themselves as Cretan, not Greek. The entire island is a beautiful mix of forest, flowers, beautiful beaches and happy people. the most beautiful towns of the island are the mountain villages. Rent a car and drive.

Crete has everything:. Shops abound and there is an excellent night life. All over the island there are hidden villages.  If you go to the more secluded villages, you'll be able to find locally handmade ceramics, textiles and much more. Crete has big cities, snow-clad mountains, archaeological sites, medieval fortresses, museums and beautiful surroundings. There are excellent beaches where you can do all kinds of water- sports. The best beach on Crete is Elafoniso. It is good for families with children and the surroundings are beautiful. Depending on your preference, you can stay in a town, a village, or a combination of the two. Chania is the usual destination because it is very comfortable and you can get almost anything here: international food and good hotels.  Iraklio is the capital of the island. It houses the archaeological museum and the famed site of Knossos is just outside the town. This was the center of the Minoan Civilization, the court of king Minos and where the Minotaur was kept in the famous labyrinth.

Day 15  This morning we transfer to the airport for our flight to Athens to connect with your international flight home.
